Society and Race
For the blog this, I would like you to consider the role of race in society. We live in a world filled with and many times divided by color. The problem is not only an American one, there are social class differences in India based on skin color. There are social class differences in Africa based on the darkness or lightness on one’s skin. From one side of the globe to the other, the variations in skin color cause conflict, war, division, and pain. If color is simply a matter of how much pigment someone has in their skin, why does it cause so much division and strife in the world? Why do we view someone as inferior based on the color of their skin? How can we move forward as a community or state or nation, if we divide on such small and pointless differences? I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on the issue.
