One the most frightening issue society is facing right now is our Economy. Think about all of the people, that can't afford food, a house, or a good amount of clothes to keep on there bodies. It's a frightening and touchy subject.
ReplyDeleteThe one that bothers me the most is fitting in. I mean how do you literally fit in where you dont think you belong everyone goes through just it doesnt seem like it phases them at all. and the entire time im nervous and hoping people leave me alone because i dont like to try to fit in with everyone their standards are to high. people are obsessed with pleasing each other and to me thats a big thing in society thats crazy
ReplyDeleteThe most frightening issue that society is facing to me would be the rebuild of our Economy. Though the issue of our Economy is still being debated on whether we actually went into a depression, which in my opinion we were headed in that direction. I believe that the lose of so many jobs, homes, money, ect. has put me in a fright on whether or not we can bounce back into a steady economy again. It also worries me that we do not know the future and there's no telling if we actually have things "under control" or not, one moment all can be well and the next people are just scrapping by just to eat or get gas. To me the rebuild is a very worrisome and frightening subject.
ReplyDeleteThe most frightening thing to me is the new health care bill. I know it means well to give everyone that does not have insurance the proper health care they need, but what does that mean for doctors and nurses? Are they going to be paid less, even though they are still putting in the crazy hours and going to school for a long time? I don't completely understand all the aspects of the new bill, but I know it'll help out some, and hurt some all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI think our economy is a main issue right now. There is so many things making it worse and there is no one trying to actually help. It scares me because its going to effect my generation the worst, mostly with this new health care bill. We are going to be greatly affected, if we are ready or not.
ReplyDeleteI think the most frightening thing about society today is the economy and divorce. They are completely different things, but they both seem like very big issues to me. The economy changes so rapidly, and citizens have a free choice of words they put into the decision, but the decision to do anything for our economy is never actually ours. The divorce issue is just the effect on kids today. My parents have been divorced since I was 6 and although it's not extremely hard for me now, it did really affect me when I was younger. Especially since my dad didn't live in SC. When he did move to SC he didn't have full custody of me, so I didn't get to see him that much. I mean, imagine how hard it is for kids today. Kids do a lot more and are in a lot more things these days, than I was when my parents got a divorce. They are just big issues to me, that seem to be growing and changing rapidly, day by day.
ReplyDeletei agree that one of the most frightening issues is the economy. but i also feel that our generation isn't going to step up and do anything about it. we're called the "serve me" generation because we expect our government to furnish us with every little want/need we have. people rely on the government for money, food, health care, and pretty much don't have to lift a finger to live in our country. so the state of our country is what scares me the most.
ReplyDeleteI really try not to pay any attention to our society, because most of the problems are bs. The main problem, if i had to choose, would definitely be our economy though. I mean I myself don't have any problems with it, I don't pay for my own gas or anything like that, so it doesn't really effect me personally. But it's a lot harder right now to get a job than any other time that i can remember.
ReplyDeleteThe most frightening thing in our society is marriage/divorce. It is scary to me how lightly people take marriage now. In the past marriage has been a sacred thing that was not messed with now a days half our country is divorced. Besides divorce when people our in a marriage many people cheat and hold their partner to low stanards not really caring about them.

ReplyDeleteI believe that one of the mot alarming problems in society is peoples ablity to be open minded to belief that are not necessarily their own. This causes problems with not only imple iue but international issue as well. These issues include religion, social norm, gender roles and so on.
Wow...that's a deep question. I think society as a whole is frightening to me right now. It seems like everything we depended on as far as the economy is concerned, has fallen apart. I think the recession has had a heavy impact on everyone's life in some way, shape, or form. I also think that our behavior in society has gotten much worse. There's way more crime and violence and its getting worse as the days go by.

ReplyDeleteI think that the most frightening thing in our society is the need for everyone to fit in. By saying 'fitting in' I mean people wanting to belong to these social cliques that have been created by our soicety. If everyone wants to fit into these cliques then they are not being themselves, and they also exclude others who don't exactly follow the 'standards' for a certain group. If the people in our society would just stop grouping people together by how they act or look then I think there would be less conflicts in the world, or at least the teenage/school years part of the world.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the most frightening issue in our society is all the little undergroups who exist for example: skin heads etc. ... cause everyone is pretending like we are all ONE NATION, ONE BIG FAMILY, and that everyone loves each other but the truth shows it much different.I am also worried about it b/c especially cause i am german i can tell what BAD can happen whenever small (under-)groups become too strong or even JUST ONE PERSON gets too much power... that's my concern. We should work on our nation/ community so that we can all live safely.

ReplyDeleteThe the most frightening thing to me is just the idea that 2012 can possibly happen. Sounds funny at this second maybe but you never know & it affectes the whole society. And yes economy is bad also but it will get better with time. Just the whole uncertanty that comes with 2012 & what can happen.

ReplyDeleteThe biggest problem we are facing now that is scary to me is the power of our national government. Take for instance the marijuana legalization policy. Denver voted to legalize marijuana in their city. This means that the citizens of this town want it to be legal, it's called popular sovereignty, but even though they voted to legalize it, the federal government put in their two cents and didn't let it become legal.
