Longevity Game

How long will you live? This question has been considered since indviduals started thinking. You have information about your parents' and grandparents longevity. Is their longevity a good indicator of your longevity or are other factors important? The Longevity Game allows yout to assess your own probablity of reaching a specific age based on your lifestyle. Go to http://www.northwesternmutual.com/learning-center/the-longevity-game.aspx and proceed with the questions.

1.) How long are you projected to live?
2.) Are you shocked, happy or surprised by the calculated number?
3.) What factors are the most positive? What factors are the most negative?
4.)What lifestyle factors could you change to increase your estimated life expectancy?
5.) Return to the game and change some of the lifestyle factors for which you received the largest negative numbers on the summary table. How much did these lifestyle changes affect your estimated life span?

  1. the website would not come up so i couldn't do the activity, but I don't know if i really want to know how long i will live. There are many things that can contribute to how long you live, like if you drink, smoke, or do drugs. there are also many factors that can prolong you life like if you exercise and eat healthy.

  4. 1) I'm projected to live to age 89
    2) Surprised&happy...I thought with my current exercise habbits it would definitely be shorter than that.
    3) Positive factors would be that I don't drink or smoke and I always wear a seatbelt. Negative factors would be that I don't have an active excercise plan and that I don't always eat healthily.
    4) I could excercise on the regular basis, and eat more fruits and vegetables.
    5) Changing those factors added 11 more years to my life. But i changed my BMI because originally I'm below the average number you're supposed to have. But after I made it average surprisingly, my life span increased.
